Oakley is a Toy Poodle who is a whopping 13 pounds! I swear he thinks he's a 50lb dog when he barks. And he barks at everyone and everything!
The Toy Poodle is one of the smartest dog breeds—as well as one of the most entertaining. Oakley has his own little personality. Just see for yourself below.
This is Oakley almost every morning when we wake up, 🤣.

JIF creamy peanut butter
If you're team crunchy... we need to talk, ha-ha! I am #teamcreamy all the way. You will find my pup, Oakley and I enjoying a teaspoon of peanut butter every night.
02
COCOA BUTTER LIP BALM
I literally buy this in bulk twice a year from Walgreens and have been doing so for the last 6 years. I've never looked back! You can say this is a true obsession, ha-ha! Awkward, but an obsession nonetheless.

COOL TOUCH BED PILLOW
I have a confession to make... I get extremely hot when I sleep at night. So much so I had to invest in a cool touch pillow. This is in addition to lowering the AC to low 70s and cranking up the bedroom fan. You will find my hubby Andrew buried under the covers! *shrug emoji*
SO WHY DID WE GET OAKLEY?
Well.... I got Oakley February of 2019. The reason I got Oakley was to help Andrew with his stressful tax season. If you don't know, from February until April 15, Accountants are working overtime, and I mean over 50-60 hours a week.
So, I told Andrew I wanted a dog and he said " why don't we wait until after tax season?" I said NO because I knew it would help him cope with his stressful tax season. Three weeks later I dragged my nephew to drive three hours to pick up Oakley, 😆.

During that week I potty trained him, trained him to go into his crate and sleep in there, and got him comfortable around the house.
Another advice I learned when YouTubing steps to bring a dog home.....get a leash and attached it to your belt loop. One side is attached to your pup and the other is attached to your belt loop. This allowed me to always watch Oakley as I was cleaning and walking around the house.
WE DID GET SOME DEVASTING NEWS AFTER BRINGING OAKLEY HOME.
About one month after bringing Oakley home, we were chasing him around the house during play time, when Oakley had a seizure in the living room. It was the worst feeling seeing an animal having a seizure.
We quickly rushed him to the emergency Vet where he had a heart exam and was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure! They gave him only six months to live.
They recommended we start him on medication to see if that will help his heart valve. Oakley was prescribed Furosemide and Pimobendan which he took for about two years.
It is now four years later and he his completely off his medications. He can live a somewhat normal life. He just can't over exert his heart and exercise too much.
We are so grateful to have Oakley in our lives! He knows when we need extra cuddles and kisses. Here's to many more years with our furbaby!
